Abstract
Research MQTT-based LoRa gateway as a solution for smart farming, which enables wireless exchange of sensor data with very efficient power consumption. This gateway is able to integrate various types of sensors that are important in modern agricultural monitoring, such as temperature sensors with an average of 36.88° air humidity 60.50%, soil humidity 2423%, and even sensors for direct monitoring of plant growth. With an average throughput of 5396.951259 bps, packet delivery ratio reaching 99.6021%, and packet loss of only 0.3979%, Quality of Service (QoS) testing confirms the optimal performance quality of this system. In addition, the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) test results also show that LoRa technology is able to maintain good signal quality at a distance of 10-200m with a signal strength of -44dBm to -85dBm, underscoring the great potential of this technology in supporting reliable and effective connectivity in an agricultural environment.
