Abstract

This study aims to determine the comfort of sleeping pillows filled with dacron and water hyacinth using a grass chopper in a sleep quality test using the PSQI method. This research was conducted from July 2023 to November 2023 at the Agricultural Faculty in Palembang, Sriwijaya University. The method used in this research is to test sleep quality using pillows stuffed with dacron and water hyacinth which have been chopped using a grass chopper using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire method with 7 assessment components, namely subjective sleep quality, sleep latency. (sleep latency), sleep duration (sleep duration), effective sleep duration in bed (habitual sleep efficiency), sleep disturbance, use of sleeping medication (sleep medication), and daytime dysfunction. The results of this study show that in the sleep disturbance component of the 10 respondents, 100% of respondents experienced sleep disturbance problems when using pillows filled with dacron and water hyacinth. The disturbance most felt when using pillows filled with dacron and water hyacinth was the crackling sound caused by the friction of the pieces. Water hyacinths that were less than fine were chopped using a grass chopper and the pieces of water hyacinth collided, causing a sound that disturbed the respondents' sleep.
