Abstract
Background: Many snacks that do not comply with food safety requirements so that they can endanger the health of millions of elementary school children. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship unhealthy snack habits with diarrhea incidence in the students of Elementary School 1 Timbangan Indralaya. Method: This study is an observational study with a descriptive analysis method with crosssectional approach (survey). Result: Based on studies of elemntary children are still a lot of snacks indiscriminate, such as choosing to eat snacks, which are not covered or not covered with food directly, without using a spoon or fork, buy a roadside food vendor, etc. Based on an analysis of the test, know that there is a relationship between the frequency of eating snacks and appetizers with diarrhean incidende, while time has no relationship with diarrhea incidence. And there is a relethionship unhealthy snack habits with diarrhea incidence. Conclusion: The role of parents and teachers are required to change the bad habits of snacks in the students. Parents should be aware of their children with a nutritious meal breakfast before going to school because it is important to prepare children in school activities. Children that respondents generally will be more able to resist his desire to snack. Children should receive their food from home, it's the cleaning is safer and more safety.
