Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of giving chicken manure and NPK fertilizer on the growth of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) seddlings. This research was carried out from August to October 2023 in the experimental garden at the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. The experiment was arranged factorially using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor is the dose of chicken manure (O) consisting of 3 levels. The second factor is that NPK (A) fertilizer consists of 3 levels. And each treatment was repeated 3 times, in 1 repetition consisting of 9 plots so that the total plots used were 27 plots. One plot contains 20 sugar cane shoots. The first factor is chicken manure (O1= 0,5 kg, O2= 1 kg, O3= 1,5 kg) per plot. The second factor is NPK fertilizer (A1= 5 gr, A2= 10 gr, A3= 15 gr) per plot. The results of the research showed that the application of chicken manure and NPK fertilizer had no significant effect on almost every parameter observed, namely the parameters leaf green level, fresh shoot weight and shoot dry weight. Meanwhile, the application of chicken manure and NPK fertilizer in the treatment interaction had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, stem diameter and number of leaves. The best treatment was obtained from the O3A3 and O2A3 treatment.
