Abstract

Indonesia as a country based on the One True God (as stated in Article 29 Paragraph 1 of the 1945 Constitution), confirms that the principle is universal for all six state-recognized religions. This principle shows the importance of facilities in supporting worship activities for each religious community. However, Christians in Cilegon City, especially the Batak Community (HKBP), as the majority of Christians in the area, do not get good facilities to accommodate church activities and other community activities. The distance of the church from home, inadequate facilities, and lack of spaces that can accommodate all types of activities are the biggest problems for HKBP people in Cilegon City. Cilegon as an Industrial City is also one of the considerations in planning a development. Therefore, this church uses a bioclimatic approach to overcome pollution problems, by harmonizing the building form with the surrounding environmental conditions to improve energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
