Abstract

Proses perlakuan panas austemper yang diberikan pada besi tuang nodular FCD 30 dilakukan untuk mendapatkan peningkatan sifat mekanis dan mengetahui pengaruh pemanasan austemper terhadap sifat kekerasan serta kekuatan tarik besi tuang nodular. Perlakuan panas yang dilakukan yaitu pemanasan awal (preheating) pada temperatur 600° C selama 30 menit, pemanasan pada temperatur austenisasi 950° C selama 60 menit dan diakhiri dengan proses austemper pada temperatur 375° C selama 90 menit. Setelah proses austemper selesai spesimen didinginkan dalam dapur pemanasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa besi tuang nodular FCD 30 mengalami perubahan sifat mekanis setelah diproses austemper. Nilai kekerasan material mengalami peningkatan sebesar 43%, kekuatan tarik material mengalami peningkatan sebesar 4%, regangan meningkat sebesar 60%, dan struktur mikronya mengalami perubahan yaitu terjadi perubahan ukuran grafit menjadi lebih kecil.
