Abstract

Rice is one of the food crops whose results become food staples in Indonesia. Upang Karya Village is one of the villages that has high rice production. The purpose of this study were (1) determine farmers perceptions of technology in rice farming in Upang Karya Village, Muara Telang Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency, (2) analyze the relationship between technology perception and technology adoption in rice farming in Upang Karya Village, Muara Telang Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency, (3) identify factors that affect the level of technology adoption in rice farming in Upang Karya Village, Muara Telang Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency. The sampling method used was a simple random sampling method with a population of 187 farmers and data collected through direct interviews with 36 rice farmers. The data collection used is primary data and secondary data. Data processing uses Likert scale, spearman rank, and multiple linear regression. The results showed a high level of perception of technology of 98.92% and the relationship between perception and the level of technology adoption had a significant relationship of 0.046, a correlation coefficient of 0.335, which means that the level of correlation strength is a low relationship in a positive direction. The variables of age, education level, land area, farming experience, income, and number of family dependents together affect the adoption rate In Upang Karya Village, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra.
