Abstract

Electric power is energy that is needed by all people and is the main source needed in various activities in the community. New renewable energy is an alternative energy source that can replace existing fossil energy sources, because the need for electrical energy in the future will continue to increase. For example, we can use Solar Power Plant (PLTS) as a new renewable energy because it is friendly to the surrounding environment that does not produce pollution. Where in the process the solar panel absorbs the heat of sunlight to be converted into electrical energy, and the most optimal temperature in absorbing the heat of sunlight itself is 25 ° C. The focus of this research is to see the effect of the addition of sunlight to the solar panel. The focus of this research is to see the effect of adding an automatic cooling system on solar panels, to see if maintaining the temperature of solar panels can produce better electrical energy compared to solar panels without using an automatic cooling system. The research methodology was carried out by designing the design and method of active cooling, which uses water as a cooling medium for the solar panels. Research and data collection were carried out for 10 days, it is known that from the results of research on solar panels with automatic cooling produced a power of 7.97 W with an efficiency of 10.76% and solar panels without cooling produced a power of 6.6 W with an efficiency of 8.91%. From these results we can know that the use of automatic cooling systems produces better efficiency values compared to solar panels without cooling. This is because the current, voltage, and power are large when using an automatic cooling system compared to when not using a cooler
