Abstract
Skin infections can be caused by pathogenic activity from bacteria, fungi, viruses and allergic factors that cause inflammation in the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. One skin infection that often occurs due to bacterial activity is acne, the bacteria that cause acne is Staphylococcus epidermidis. Treatment of acne is usually done using antibiotics both orally and topically, but continuous use of antibiotics over a long period of time can cause resistance. One alternative treatment is using secondary metabolite compounds from endophytic fungi in kabau fruit. This study aims to obtain endophytic fungi in kabau fruit (Archidendron bubalinum (Jack) I.C Nielsen) containing antibacterial compounds of Staphylococcus epidermidis, determine the class of compounds from endophytic fungal extracts that have antibacterial activity and obtain the minimum inhibitory concentration. The results of the antibacterial activity test of endophytic fungi Diaporthe sp. have the largest inhibition zone diameter of 15.25 mm with 61% antibacterial activity compared to endophytic fungi Daldinia sp. and Fusarium sp. The content of secondary metabolite compounds in endophytic fungi Daldinia sp. Diaporthe sp., Fusarium sp. which have antibacterial activity are tannins, flavonoids, terpenoids and phenols. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of secondary metabolite extracts in Daldinia sp. endophytic fungi is 700 µg/mL, while Diaporthe sp. endophytic fungi have a minimum inhibitory concentration value of 350 µg/mL and the KHM value of Fusarium sp. endophytic fungi is 1000 µg/mL against Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228.
