Abstract

PT Putra Muba Coal is a coal company in South Sumatra with a licence covering an area of 2,947 hectares. The actual overburden stripping at PT Putra Muba Coal Pit Nakula in July amounted to 370,953 bcm with a stripping target of 307,777 bcm, so that the achievement of overburden stripping was 83%, so there was a production deficit of 17%.. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the performance of the excavation and haulage equipment and the factors that hinder its performance. The data observed are primary data, namely cycle time data of loading and transport equipment and work efficiency, then secondary data in the form of number and type of loading and transport equipment, rain hours, repair hours and working hours of available tools in August 2023. Based on the results of the calculation, the actual production results in August 2023 were only 249.251 BCM for excavation equipment and 248.583 BCM for transport equipment, with a production achievement percentage of 83%. Factors that affect the production and performance of mechanical equipment are cycle time, tool efficiency, tool availability and haul road geometry. After improving work efficiency and haul road width, production achievement of 120% was achieved.
