Abstract

Corrosion is general damage to materials, especially metals due to reactions with the surrounding environment. Final waste management or final waste disposal site is a critical aspect of waste management which involves handling and managing waste that cannot be reused. The aim of this research is to see the impact of changes in temperature using temperatures of 30°, 40° and 50° and the effect of air leachate on the corrosion of AISI 1020 and Aluminum 1050 steel as well as the condition of AISI 1020 and Aluminum 1050 which are connected with rivets. Research Methods which was carried out in the form of experimental tests using corrosion rate analysis and microstructure observations. In this study, the impact of leachate air resulted in the appearance of green rust on AISI 1020 steel. combined specimen using rivets result increase and a decrease in the corrosion rate irregular due to differences in composition, material potential. The type of corrosion that occurs in the combined specimen shows that in the interface area, 2 types of corrosion occur, namely galvanic and crevice, galvanic corrosion only occurs in the area close to the rivet joint, the phases formed from the entire specimen are ferrite and pearlite, increasing temperature has a different effect on materials shows that temperature has a different influence on the corrosion behavior of materials in different environments.
