Abstract

A study was conducted to identify the comparison of subsurface lithology in the Kayuagung District, Ogan Komering Ilir, using 1D Schlumberger and Wenner geoelectric methods. The geoelectric resistivity method involves injecting electric current into the ground through two current electrodes and measuring the potential through two potential electrodes. By injecting electric current into a medium and measuring the potential difference (voltage), the resistance value of the medium can be estimated. The research method involved creating a track with a minimum span length of 60 meters up to a maximum span length of 120 meters, followed by measurements with a resistivity meter. The data obtained were then processed using IPI2Win and Ms.Visio software to visualize the subsurface lithological structure. The interpretation results show that the materials in the Kayuagung District, Ogan Komering Ilir, consist of clay, sand, and sandstone. Each configuration yielded different results. The Wenner configuration indicated an estimated depth penetration of around 20 meters with 2 layers, suspected to contain clay and sand. Meanwhile, the Schlumberger configuration indicated an estimated depth penetration of around 31 meters with 3 layers, suspected to contain clay, sand, and sandstone.
