Abstract

Aluminium is a lightweight metal having corrosion resistance and a good conductor of heat. In addition it also has the aluminium where the formability of aluminium alloy can be worked or processed well in cold working and hot working (by melting) This siudy conducted on aluminium on the aluminium casting process with a metal molding measuring 30 cm x 10 cm x 3 cm, metal plat e with a thickness off 3 mm. This study was conducted to determine changes in the microstructure and mechanical properties of cast aluminium, the thesting is done with micro testing, impact testing and Brinell. Test results showed that higest value of hardness specimen is on the botton survace of specimen where the lowest hardness in BHN of 48.978 kgf/mm2, on the upper of specimen there are a lot ofporosity, this time due to a slow freezing.
