Abstract

The research was conducted at Phytopathology laboratory at the Plant Pest *and Diseases Department, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, from September 2013 to April 2014. The purpose of this research was to determinate the time of appearance of symptom anthracnose diseases for chilies (C. annum L.) maturity level and fungi that cause anthracnose symptom. The treatments were arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and the treatment repeated five times. The result of the research showed that time of appearance of symptom anthracnose diseases was 2 days after being picked from the field. The highest incidence of the anthracnose diseases occurred in raw vegetable chilies (88%). The severity of the diseases. Fungi C. acutatum more dominant cause anthracnose symptom in curly chilies than fungi C. gloeosporioides and C. capsici. Fungi C. capsici more dominant cause anthracnose symptom in vegetable chilies than fungi C. gloeosporioides and C. acutatum.
