Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the growth and production of paddy and ratoon (Oryza sativa L.) in some dose of organic fertilizer and aplication frequency of nitrogen on the tidal swampland. This research was held on tidal swampland at Desa Sumber Mulya, Kecamatan Muara Telang, Kabupaten Banyuasin of South Sumatera, from November 2012 to April 2013. Methode of this research was Completely Randomized Block Design of Factorial (CRBD-F) with two factors. The first factor was dose of organic fertilizer 0 t ha'1, 2,5 t ha'1, and 5 t ha'1 organic fertilizer. The second factor was aplication frequency of nitrogen, 50% was distributed in the first planting and primordia (Ai), 33,33% was distributed in the first planting, primordia and the first harvest (A2), 33,33% was distributed in the first planting, primordia, and 16,67% was distributed in the first harvest and 21 days after first harvest (A3). The parameters observed: and productive of tillers number, plant height, stover plant weight, percentage of unfilled grain, dry grains weight and 1000 grains of weight. The result of initial soil analysis, the soil in the research location was suitable with criteria of CSR / FAO (1983), shown that soil in the research location had low soil fertility with high acidity, C-organic content was medium, N-total content was low, low P-Bray and high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). maximum The results of the research showed that the frequency of nitrogen A3 toward assisting the highest result to growth and primory paddy production and frequency to giving nitrogen A2 for ratoon. Organic fertilizer aplication did not give significant efFect to paddy growth, So by N fertilizing was enough. The highest production to primory paddy was treated of 5 t ha'1 organic fertilizer and ffequency for nitrogen aplication on treatment of A3. The highest production for ratoon was treated of 2,5 ton ha'1 organic fertilizer and the ffequency to nitrogen aplication on A2 treatment.
