Abstract
Polylactic acid synthesized from fatty acid of kernel palm oil was used in this research. The aim of the research was to study poly lactic acid blended with nylon and formed films. The films were tested for their biodegradation. And the characteristics before and after biodegradation also were intensively studied. The results of experiment showed that the polylactic acid could be blended with nylon and formed films. The films were biodegraded indicated by decreasing their tensile strength, elongation, and molecular weight.
