Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perbandingan resepsi kelas IX nonakselerasi dan akselerasi SMP Negeri 8 Palembang terhadap cerpen “Pohon Kersen” -dilihat dari horison luas dan horison sempit terhadap unsur pembangun karya sastral Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya tingkat persentase horison luas siswa kelas akselerasi lebih tinggi dari siswa kelas nonakselerasi. Perbandingannya yaitu 74% dan 51% sedangkan perbandingan horison sempit antara kelas akselerasi dan nonakselerasi yaitu 18% dan 38%. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan gambaran tentang resepsi atau tanggapan pembaca terhadap cerpen “Pohon Kersen”. Selain itu, dengan resepsi sastra, siswa dapat mengambil amanat dan watak yang baik dalam cerita untuk diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Peneliti menyarankan agar peneliti resepsi sastra selanjutnya mencari objek penelitian dan masalah yang berbeda sehingga dapat diperoleh gambaran mengenai tanggapan pembaca terhadap karya sastra berupa cerita rakyat, cerpen, novel, drama, dan puisi. sastra siswa Kata-kata kunci: Resepsi sastra, horison luas, dan horison sempit
