Abstract

Coal is a useful energy resources supplying energy needs especially for power generation and various industries. One of the coal companies in Indonesia is PT Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk. Coal at PT Bukit Asam, Tbk is derived from coal ripping activities using a bulldozer equipped with ripper. Coal that has been ripped then excavated and loaded into the dump truck by excavator backhoe. Dump trucks then transport coal to reclaim feeder which is unit of Coal Handling Facility. One of the unit of Coal Handling Facility is Double roll crusher. The problems that often occurs in coal handling is the Crusher Fault. Causes Crusher Fault one of them is material that fragmentasinya larger than 20 cm x 20 cm into the crusher and the crusher opening capacity is smaller than incoming coal. Crusher problems are not only Crusher Fault, but also other problems related to the unit of Coal Handling Facility of Muara Tiga Besar which causes Efficiency in June 2017 only 59%. Based on the overall calculation and study that has been done related to the effective time of operation and the value of efficiency, The result showed that after the improvement there was an effective increase of working time 17,06 hours / day to 19,25 hours / day from 21 hours / day. After reducing the problems that occurred in January 2017-August 2017, the results showed that after the improvement there was an increase of effective operating time from the previous 2.808,22 hours to 3.333,82 hours and the improvement of work efficiency from the previous 55,7% to 66,2% or an increase in work efficiency by 10,4%.
