Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk. is one of the state owned enterprise in coal mining industry. The coal is transported from Tanjung Enim to Unit Dermaga Kertapati, Palembang with distance 190 km by using train in cooperation with PT. Kereta Api Indonesia which take 9 hours. The coal train series consist of 40 carriages. Coal shipped from Tanjung Enim to Kertapati Palembang Derma Unit is 190 km traveled for 9 hours. In each car loading approximately 35-40 tons of coal. In the distribution of coal type AL-48 to Demert Unit Kertapati Palembang done at Train Loading Station 1 (TLS). The process of filling each carriage using TLS takes 2-3 minutes. In transport to (TLS) using belt conveyor circuit. The process of pouring coal into the rangakian belt conveyor is done by using the Bucket Wheel Excavator (BWE) tool. Bucket Wheel Excavator is converted as a tool to capture coal in the temporary stockpile and forwarded to the conveyor belt circuit. The loading process into the train through Train Loading Station 1 takes 2-3 minutes to arrange the amount of the coal. Train Loading Station receives the coal through belt conveyor which load by Bucket Wheel Excavator (BWE) that used to take the coal from temporary stockpile. Belt conveyor transports the coal with an average speed 3 m/s. The size of the coal which loaded by Train Loading Station to the train is about 200 mm. The processing phase of the coal AL-48 start from the unloading the carriages to distribution of the ship. The unloading process of one train in Unit Dermaga Kertapati takes 2-3 hours with 3-4 minutes for each carriages by using Apron Feeder. As the tub of the train is open, the coal comes into the hopper and falls on Apron Feeder which is connected to the belt conveyor. The coal is transported through belt conveyor to roll crusher to get result with size 50 mm. The maximum size of feed that can be reduced by roll crusher is 500 mm. After the crushing, the coal will be distributed into 2 conditions which is in stockpile using stacker or directly distribute to the ship by using ship loader. The average of total moisture coal AL-48 sample (30 samples) that analyzed in Tanjung Enim Laboratory was 28.17 %. But the result of total moisture after the analysis for the same coal that has been arrived in Unit Dermaga Kertapati, Palembang is increased to 28.50 %. The increasing average of the total moisture still in line of the maximum range which is 20.00-29.00%. The average of ash content coal AL-48 samples which analyzed in Tanjung Enim Laboratory was 4.54 %. That coal that has been arrived in Unit Dermaga Kertapati, Palembang analyzed by the Laboratory and the result of the average ash content is increased 0,47 %, which is increased into 5.01 %. Increasing the ash content average of coal AL-48 is still within the range of the value recommendation in mine brand AL-48 which is 3.00-8.00%.
