Abstract
Split air conditioners are commonly used air conditioning systems to create a comfortable air temperature indoors. This cooling system is simply designed, consisting of a compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator. Every piece of equipment has a certain lifespan, including split AC equipment. However, split AC equipment that is no longer in use can still be reused by modifying the evaporator side, to make ice cubes. This research analyzes the performance of ice cube making cooling machines using split AC with salt water media as heat conductor with variations in capillary pipe lengths of 100 cm, 150 cm, 200 cm. The results showed that the capillary pipe length of 150 cm can absorb more heat, which is 1.36 kW, can release more heat, which is 1.72 kW, has a greater COP value of 3.74, and the time required to make ice cubes is more effective with a time of 55 minutes compared to capillary pipes measuring 100 cm, and 200 cm.
