Abstract

Latar Belakang: Oral candidiasis merupakan infeksi mukosa mulut yang paling umum terjadi pada individu dengan penurunan sistem kekebalan tubuh, terutama pada pasien HIV/AIDS. Penyebabnya adalah perubahan jamur Candida albicans dari flora normal menjadi patogen. Peningkatan insiden oral candidiasis dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor termasuk HIV, dengan temuan penelitian yang menunjukkan orientasi seksual sebagai faktor risiko penularan HIV. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui signifikansi hubungan orientasi seksual dengan kejadian oral candidiasis pada pasien HIV di RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang periode Januari 2022-Agustus 2023. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Penelitian ini menggunakan data rekam medis pasien HIV di poli Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang periode Januari 2022-Agustus 2023. Populasi pada penelitian ini berjumlah 202 orang dengan sampel sebanyak 134 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan consecutive sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan meliputi analisis univariat (kategorik dan numerik) dan bivariat (chi-square). Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukan kejadian oral candidiasis paling banyak ditemukan pada heteroseksual sebanyak 70 responden (61,4%), sedangkan pada homoseksual 37 responden (32,5%) dan biseksual 7 responden (6,1%). Adapun hasil analisis menunjukkan p-value sebesar 0,012 (p<0,05). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara orientasi seksual dengan kejadian oral candidiasis pada pasien HIV/AIDS di RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang periode Januari 2022-Agustus 2023.
