Abstract

The purpose of this study was to discern the influence of group guidance with psychodrama technique on academic procrastination of 11th science class students in Srijaya Negara High School Palembang. The method used in this study was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. Samples were collected by using purposive sampling technique, with total population of 94 students and 7 of them were taken as samples. Treatments were given for 4 times meetings where the first meeting was a regular group guidance, and the next 3 meetings was group guidance with psychodrama technique. The study results showed that there was a change between pretest and posttest. Before receiving treatments, average score of pretest was 105,142, which belong to High category. After receiving it, the average score of posttest increased to 162,428 with Very Low category. Based on the T-test result, the tcalc = 17,25, which if ttable in the significant level of 5% is 2,447, it meant that tcalc > ttable or in other words H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It showed that the group guidance using psychodrama technique did affect the academic procrastination by decreasing the appearance of procrastination academic behavior.
