Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kanker rongga mulut merupakan keganasan dengan angka mortalitas ke 15 di antara semua keganasan. Oral Potentially Malignant Diseases (OPMDs) merupakan kondisi yang muncul mendahului kanker mulut. Pengetahuan mahasiswa kedokteran gigi penting untuk mendeteksi OPMDs sedini mungkin. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan jenis kelamin dan tingkat pengetahuan mengenai lesi OPMDs pada Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi Unsri angkatan 2021. Metode: Studi cross-sectional observasional analitik digunakan pada penelitian ini dengan melibatkan seluruh Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi Unsri angkatan 2021 (84 responden). Kuesioner sebanyak 10 pertanyaan tertutup dibagikan melalui google form dan terkumpul 100%. Hasil: responden penelitian memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang terhadap OPMDs (83%). Hasil uji chi-square (p < 0,05) menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna. Kesimpulan: Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi Unsri angkatan 2021 memiliki kategori tingkat pengetahuan kurang dan jenis kelamin mempengaruhi tingkat pengetahuan Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi Unsri angkatan 2021 mengenai lesi OPMDs.
