Abstract
Results of the Indonesian Nutritional Status Study (SSGI) in 2022, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia was 21.6% and in Ogan Ilir Regency it was 24.9%. Also, as of August 2023, the prevalence of Stunting in the Pemulutan Community Health Center was 255 cases (11.33%) and in Palu village there were 77 Stunting toddlers. Stunting itself is a case caused by multifactorial causes, one of which is the general characteristics of the respondent and environmental health. The condition of access to sanitation in Palu village itself is still relatively low, for example 2.7% of people have access to good quality clean water, 2.72% of people have access to good quality drinking water and 21.3% of people have access to toilets. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between environmental health and general characteristics of respondents with stunting in Palu Village, the working area of the Pemulutan Community Health Center, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research is quantitative using a cross-sectional design with the Cluster Proportional Random Sampling technique. The sample used in this research was 63 respondents, namely mothers of toddlers in Palu Village. Analysis of this research data was carried out univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test. This research was conducted using primary data obtained through direct observation and interviews with respondents using questionnaires, as well as secondary data for the dependent variable. The results of the study show that the variables that have a significant relationship with stunting are maternal knowledge (p-value 0.001), defecation behavior (p-value 0.043), hand washing behavior with soap (p-value 0.004), and clean water (p -value 0.029). Meanwhile, variables that are not related are maternal education (p-value 0.434), maternal employment (p-value 0.736) and drinking water (p-value 0.094). It can be concluded that environmental health factors are related to stunting in Palu Village, the working area of the Pemulutan Community Health Center, Ogan Ilir Regency.
