Abstract

Progressive pain in cervical cancer patients can affect the patient's quality of life in physical and psychological aspects. Interventions that can help cervical cancer patients adapt to pain include providing non-pharmacological techniques in the form of applying lavender aromatherapy and progressive muscle relaxation. The aimed of this final scientific work was to provide nursing care to cervical cancer patients with chronic pain problems used lavender aromatherapy interventions and progressive muscle relaxation. The method used was a qualitative research method with a case study approach to three cervical cancer patients with chronic pain nursing problems used the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results of this study showing that there is an increase in the comfort feel by patients with a decrease in the pain scale from a scale of 5-6 to a scale of 3-5. The main ingredients in lavender aromatherapy are linalylacetat and linalool which have an analgesic and anti-inflammatory role which can help reduce pain. Muscle movements in progressive muscle relaxation can stimulate the secretion of endorphins which function as natural pain relievers in the body. Provided lavender aromatherapy and progressive muscle relaxation can be used in cervical cancer patients to help increase comfort so that patients were able to adapt to the pain they feel.
