Abstract
This research aims to analyze the efficiency of different blade materials on a micro-scale Savonius turbine used for charging mobile phone batteries. Given the importance of developing renewable energy due to the decreasing availability of fossil energy, this study focuses on harnessing wind energy as an alternative renewable energy source. A prototype Wind Power Plant (PLTB) with blade materials consisting of PVC, aluminum, and fiberglass was tested to determine the most efficient material. The results indicate that the different blade materials have a significant impact on the generated electrical energy. The research findings demonstrate that aluminum blades perform better compared to the other two materials, followed by fiberglass and PVC. Aluminum produced a voltage of 8.4 V, a current of 0.2 A, and a power of 0.1688 Watts when subjected to the highest wind speed of 7.1 m/s. This indicates that aluminum can work optimally due to its lightweight and suitability as a blade material for PLTB turbines.
