Abstract

The study examines the “Healthy Behavior the tidal swamp community in the gasing village Talang Kelapa Sub-district of Banyuasin Disrict”. The problem of this research is related to the form and background of public health behavior living in tidal swamp areas. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method. In the determining the informant used purposive model, data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. This research used Lawrence Green theory of behavior. The results research showed that the form of health behavior is divided into two namely healthy behavior and sick behavior, some activities in healthy behavior are exercising, mutual cooperation, clean dressing, nutritious eating, and adequate rest while sick behavior one of which is to go the tradisional healer, get treatment with a scrap, buy generic drugs that are sold freely, and go to healthy workers. These behavior are motivated because of the predisposing, enabling, reinforcing factors which includes community knowledge, awareness, economic ability, and experience (education) of the community when sick who want to get healing. The people of gasing village trend to prefer traditional treatments such as scraped, sorted as a first step so that getting treatment at the puskesmas is the last step if the disease does not heal.
