Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of a DC generator in a micro-scale wind power plant (PLTB) for mobile phone charging. The background of this research is the urgent need for efficient and environmentally friendly alternative energy sources, as well as the limitations of fossil energy sources. Mobile phone battery charging is an attractive application because it has become a basic necessity in daily life. A DC generator was chosen to better match the energy produced for charging mobile phone batteries compared to the three-phase AC generator used in previous studies. Data was obtained by measuring voltage, current, and wind speed in a micro-scale PLTB on two mobile phones with different battery voltages, namely 3.9 volts and 4.1 volts. The results showed that the 4.1-volt battery voltage was more efficient at higher wind speeds, while the 3.9-volt battery voltage was more efficient at lower wind speeds. In conclusion, despite the differences in efficiency under various conditions, the power generated is still small for effective mobile phone charging. Further research is recommended to analyze the internal conditions of the battery, optimize turbine design, and use more efficient materials. Keywords - Efficiency, DC Generator, Micro-Scale WPP, Mobile Phone Battery Charging, Alternative Energy.
