Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the feasibility of using a straw chopper machine modified from power thresher. This research has been carried out in February 2018 until June 2018 at Workshop of Agriculture Equipment and Machinery for Food Crops and Holticulture of Southern Sumatera Province. This researchused two methods consisting of descriptive method by analyzing the data obtained from the engine testing, observation and study results which was subsequently presented in form of table as well as interviews with relevant parties. The observed parameters were Net Present Value (NPV), net B/C ratio and Break Even Point (BEP). The results showed that investment on a straw chopper machine modified from power thresher was financially feasible to be applied with Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp. 16,828,141.3, net B/C ratio of 1.55 and Break Even Point (BEP) of 18,553 kg for production volume and Rp 481/kg for production price, respectively.
