Abstract

This study is a development research that aims to (1) produces a valid and practical geometry series word-problem to measure higher order thinking skill; (2) knows the potential effect of geometry series word-problem to measure higher order thinking skill in grade XI of senior high school. The subjects were students of class XI IPA 4 senior high school number 1 Indralaya, amounting to 36 students. The data were collected using walk through, documentation, and field test. The results concluded that (1) this research produced 5 valid and preactical geometry series word-problem. Valid is reflected from the results of logical and empirical validation. Practical is reflected from the results of small group. (2) the developed prototype has potential effects to measure higher order thinking skill, this can be seen from the ability of 12 students who are classified as good and very good and also the ability of 18 students who get score above the average.
