Abstract
PT Bukit Asam took the step of dismantling the North TAL ex-disposal with the aim of optimizing the recovery of the remaining reserves underneath. The mining process requires facilities in the form of haul roads to support mining, processing, and sales activities. The condition of the haul road planning area in the ex-disposal area is overburden stockpile material. Planning the structure of the road body that will be crossed by mechanical equipment in the form of low density fill material so that the suitability of the soil bearing capacity and ground pressure of the selected equipment needs to be considered. The purpose of this study is to determine the bearing capacity relationship of the ex-disposal subgrade to mechanical equipment, and as a reference in planning the strength of new roads around the haul road planning area. The test was divided into 5 segments as a representative area to determine the value of soil bearing capacity in the ex-disposal area. The test results in segment 1 is a coal dump truck haul road with a soil bearing capacity value of 8.46kg/cm2, segments 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the original ex-disposal area of 6.96 kg/cm2, 5.50 kg/cm2, 5.22 kg/cm2, 6.73 kg/cm2 and ground pressure of komatsu HD 785 equipment of 8, 33 kg/cm2, komatsu PC-1250 of 1.52 kg/cm2, komatsu PC-2000 of 2.1 kg/cm2, bulldozer of 0.62 kg/cm2, dump truck of 7.81 kg/cm2 so that subgrade improvement is needed for areas that have a bearing capacity below the largest tool ground pressure. The soil improvement steps carried out in this study by taking several soil samples that will be planned as pavement material by conducting laboratory-scale california bearing ratio tests, based on the test results obtained 2 soil samples that qualify as soil for improvement recommendations, namely sample MLD_XMT.01 (silt) with a CBR value of 89.90% as a base coarse 13.208 cm thick and MLD_XMT.02 (lean clay) as a surface coarse 11.938cm thick with a CBR value of 86.53% as an ex-disposal subgrade improvement.
