Abstract

Southeast Asia that has 10 active members, namely Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam. During its membership of ASEAN, Indonesia has achieved many accession, one of which is approving the Regional Comprehensive Economic Patnership (RCEP). This framework assigns relevant ministers to implement the vision in economic cooperation with ASEAN partner countries. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research design with data sources obtained from online official articles, books, written media, and journals related to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). On a global scale, some RCEP participating countries are still categorized as countries with less developed economic development, such as Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. However, there are also developing countries that mostly fall into this category. In contrast, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand are developed FTA partners. Indonesia is confident that the RCEP negotiations will be successful and members will benefit each other by carrying out the negotiation process with the principles of equality, mutual respect, and common interests. While at the domestic level, Indonesia uses a strategy to convince by using RCEP to improve market access, investment, economy, and stability of the regional.
