Abstract

Simpang Tiga Jaya Village is a village located in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province that has wetlands as a pond cultivation area. Ponds in Simpang Tiga Jaya Village are divided into two different types of ponds, namely silvofishery ponds and non-silvofishery ponds. The conversion of mangrove land into community ponds has caused severe abrasion and sedimentation processes, so it is thought to cause contamination of the biota on the land, one of which is the epifauna macrozoobenthos organisms. This study aims to assess and classify the types of macrozoobenthos epifauna to see the stability of the pond ecosystem in Simpang Tiga Jaya Village. The results showed that the macrozoobenthos epifauna found in ponds Simpang Tiga Jaya village there are 3 classes of macrozoobenthos namely Bivalvia, Gastropoda and Malacostraca with 6 species in silvofishery ponds and 7 species in non-silvofishery ponds. The abundance of epifauna macrozoobenthos found in Simpang Tiga Jaya village ponds ranged from 47-49 ind/m2 in silvofishery ponds and 21-25 ind/m2 in non-silvofishery ponds. Grouping macrozoobenthos epifauna in ponds Simpang Tiga Jaya village can be grouped into 2 clusters. The relationship between the abundance and community structure of macrozoobenthos epifauna with environmental parameters and sediment texture in ponds Simpang Tiga Jaya Village characterized by diversity index and clay substrate.
