Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam Tbk is a State-Owned Enterprise company that operates in the coal mining sector. PT Bukit Asam Tbk is located in South Sumatra Province, precisely in Tanjung Enim District, Muara Enim Regency. The research was carried out because it looked at the condition of slope stability in the old dump area in the Mahayung North Laya Water Mine (TAL Mahayung) pit. Mining carried out at the TAL Mahayung pit uses the open pit method so there is potential for landslides in the old dump area. Slope stability analysis is more important to be able to see the potential for landslides on old dump slopes by considering a safety factor of >1.50. This research also plans to build an open channel because it aims to channel rainwater so as not to influence landslides in the old dump area. The open channel design is planned by calculating the geomembrane on the north side of the outer boundary with a length of 1,777.6 m. The results of the open channel analysis using Manning showed recommendations for a trapezoidal open channel cross section and the dimensions of the open channel as follows: top length 2.263 m, bottom length 0.663 m, and channel height 0.96 m.
