Abstract

Latar Belakang: Presbikusis merupakan suatu kondisi hilangnya pendengaran secara bertahap pada sebagian besar individu seiring dengan bertambahnya usia. Prevalensi presbikusis di seluruh dunia sebanyak 30-40% lansia yang berusia ≥ 65 tahun. Gangguan pendengaran menyebabkan penurunan kualitas hidup akibat menurunnya interaksi dan isolasi sosial pada pasien. Tujuan: Untuk membandingkan kualitas hidup pasien presbikusis dan non-presbikusis berdasarkan hearing handicap inventory for the elderly-screening (HHIE-S) dan tes audiometri nada murni pada pasien geriatri di panti jompo Palembang. Metode:. Penelitian dengan desain cross sectional yang dilakukan di Panti Werdha Dharma Bakti dan Panti Jompo Harapan Kita pada bulan Desember 2023. Jumlah responden 65 orang yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi berusia 60-90 tahun dan bersedia untuk dilakukan pemeriksaan OAE, audiometri, dan timpanometri. Hasil: Didapatkan perbedaan signifikan dan korelasi positif sedang pada presbikusis (r=0,449, p=0,002) dan korelasi positif kuat pada audiometri nada murni (r=0,744, p=0,000) terhadap skor HHIE-S menggunakan uji spearman. Usia (p=0,009) dan hiperkolesterol (p=0,015) berhubungan signifikan terhadap peningkatan skor HHIE-S. Simpulan: Terdapat perbedaan signifikan dan korelasi positif sedang pada presbikusis terhadap skor HHIE-S di Panti Werdha Dharma Bakti dan Panti Jompo Harapan Kita.
