Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the ef ect of the amount of water providedandvarious planting media on water content, growth of pak choy (Brassica rapa L.) plantsand ef iciency of water use with a membrane irrigation system. The methodinthisresearch is the Randomized Block Factorial Design (RAKF) method with two factorials, namely the amount of water given and the planting media factor. The parametersobserved were air content, air use ef iciency, temperature, relative humidity, plant height, number of leaves and stem weight. The results of the research showed that the best wateruse ef iciency in pakcoy plants was found in the A1B3 treatment with 90%air intheplanting medium in the form of a mixture of ultisol soil, husk charcoal and ABMixfertilizer of 4.351 kg/m3 with a wet stover weight of pakcoy plants of 104.67 grams. Themost inef icient use of air in pakcoy plants was in treatment 31B2 with 90%air intheultisol soil and charcoal husk planting medium of 1.389 kg/m3 and the wet stover weight of pakcoy plants was 27.33 grams.
