Abstract

Global warming is a form of ecosystem imbalance on Earth caused by an increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere, ocean and land. As a result, carbon concentrations in the atmosphere increase and cause a greenhouse effect. Actions that can reduce global warming are to restore damaged natural conditions so that plants can absorb carbon dioxide for photosynthesis and then produce oxygen and energy, some of which is stored as plant biomass. Rubber plants have the ability to store carbon to reduce the impact of global warming. Carbon stock refers to the total carbon stored in an ecosystem or carbon reservoir such as trees and soil. This includes living biomass such as plants and carbon stored in dead organic form as well as soil material. This research was conducted at the Rubber Experimental Garden of the Sungei Putih Research Unit in January 2024. The purpose of this research was to measure the biomass and amount of carbon stock at the Rubber Experimental Garden (Hevea brasiliensis) of the Sungei Putih Research Unit. The benefit of this research is that it can be used as a reference for writing and information for readers and future researchers regarding carbon stocks in the Rubber Experimental Plantation at the Sungei Putih Research Unit, useful for related agencies and others, and can also provide information to readers about potential stocks of rubber plants carbon. The method used in this research is a non destructive method. The results of this research show that biomass in plot 1 is 50,18 tons ha-1 , plot 2 is 53,93 tons ha -1 , and plot 3 is 47,52 tons ha-1 . Furthermore, the highest carbon stock yield was 90,06 tons C ha-1 , while the lowest carbon storage was 32,20 tons C ha-1 with an average carbon stock of 56,75 tons C ha-1 .
