Abstract

Mulya Sari Village is a village located in a tidal swamp area. This tidal swamp has quite a large potential to be used as farming land if managed well. Groups of food crops and plantations such as rubber and oil palm are the most dominant commodities cultivated by village farmers. The group of horticultural crops, especially pineapple, is still very limited for cultivation in this region. Therefore, the prospect of pineapple cultivation has a great opportunity to increase the income and welfare of farmers or pineapple farming entrepreneurs because the price of the fruit is relatively high compared to similar commodities. The aim of this research is to be able to determine the limiting factors that influence the growth of pineapple plants and to be able to assess the level of suitability of land for pineapple plants on tidal land of type C. The method used in this research is using a detailed level field survey method with an area of research land. 16 ha and observations in the laboratory. The analysis of the physical properties of the soil is in the form of Soil Texture, Permeability, Water Content, Bulk Density, Soil Pore Space, while the analysis of the chemical properties of the soil is in the form of Soil pH, Soil C-Organic, N-Total, P2O5, K2O. Soil sampling points were taken using a purposive sampling method of 3 sample points in 2 hectares of land and then composited. So there were 8 samples analyzed in the laboratory. And one sample point each taken using a ring. The result data in this research was obtained from primary data and secondary data. The limiting factors that influence the growth of pineapple plants on this research land are soil pH, P2O5, K2O, and rainfall/year. Efforts to manage land optimally, namely by providing input in the form of liming or adding organic material, fertilizing, and providing irrigation can increase the suitability class of actual land to potential land in this research.
