Abstract

Effect Aerobisity and Wilting On The Digestibility of Crude Protein and Crude Fiber of King Grass (Pennisetum purpureophoides) Silage With In Vitro Methods (Supervised by ARMINA FARIANI). The research aimed was to determine the level of aerobisity and wilting time in the silage process on the digestibility value of crude protein (PK) and crude fibre (SK) of king grass (Pennisetum purpureophoides) silage in vitro with the method of vaccum and non vaccum. This research was conducted from December 2023 to February 2024 in the silage making process in the experimental cages of the Department of Animal Husbandry Technology and Industry and continued in the Animal Nutrition and Food Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Study Programme, Department of Animal Husbandry Technology and Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a completely randomised design (CRD) 2 x 4 factorial pattern consisting of aerobicity factor (A1 = not aerated and A2 = aerated) and wilting factor (B1 = 0 hour wilting, B2 = 2 hours, B3 = 4 hours, and B4 = 6 hours). Each treatment consisted of 4 replicates. The results showed that aerobic conditions can increase the digestibility value of crude protein and crude fibre, reaching 60.94% and 73.41%, respectively. The interaction effect of wilting treatment and aerobicity can increase the digestibility value of crude protein and crude fibre with the best treatment in the A2B3 combination with values of 58.53% and 76.76%, respectively. Based on the results of this study, it could be concluded that the length of time of 4 hours wilting and aerobicity can increase the digestibility value of crude protein and crude fibre. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menentukan aerobisitas dan waktu pelayuan yang tepat pada proses silase terhadap nilai kecernaan protein kasar (PK) dan serat kasar (SK) dari silase rumput raja (Pennisetum purpureophoides) secara in vitro dengan metode divakum dan tidak divakum. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2023 sampai Februari 2024 proses pembuatan silase di kandang percobaan jurusan Teknologi dan Industri Peternakan dan dilanjutkan di Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Program studi Peternakan, Jurusan Teknologi dan Industri Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola Faktorial 2 x 4 yang terdiri dari faktor aerobisitas (A1= tidak divakum dan A2= divakum) sedangkan faktor pelayuan (B1= pelayuan 0 jam, B2= 2 jam, B3= 4 jam, dan B4= 6 jam). Adapun masing masing perlakuan terdiri dari 4 ulangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kondisi aerobisitas dapat meningkatkan nilai kecernaan protein kasar dan serat kasar secara berurutan yaitu mencapai 60,94% dan 73,41%. Pengaruh interaksi perlakuan pelayuan dan aerobisitas mampu meningkatkan nilai kecernaan protein kasar serat kasar dengan perlakuan terbaik pada kombinasi A2B3 dengan nilai masing masing 58,53%. dan 76,76%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat di simpulkan bahwa lama waktu pelayuan 4 jam dan divakum dapat meningkatkan nilai kecernaan protein kasar dan serat kasar.
