Abstract

The challenge of the growing global population is ensuring the provision of food. One effort to meet the food supply needs is through fisheries. Aquaculture has become key in providing an affordable source of protein and experiencing rapid growth. Over time, one method in fish farming is the use of Floating Net Cages (KJA). However, fish farming in net cages often leads to significant water pollution. The impact of this situation also results in mass fish deaths. To address this, an automated KJA system, aided by autonomous buoys (buoys) for water quality monitoring, is necessary. In the buoy's water monitoring process, sensors and actuators are required to move and find places with good water quality. The search for quality can be done by comparing water quality values through sensors on other buoys and KJA. This research designs a type-2 fuzzy control system for positioning control so that autonomous buoys can maintain their position while searching for places with good water quality. This study uses two inputs for the control process: heading direction and distance. The research also shows that type-2 fuzzy logic has lower distance error values compared to type-1 fuzzy logic, with distance error values being 0.2 meters, 0.56 meters, 0.11 meters, and 0.44 meters. This is because type-2 fuzzy logic has upper and lower bounds, allowing it to handle more uncertainty than type-1 fuzzy logic. Thus, the type-2 fuzzy control system can provide good performance.
