Abstract
Ultisol is one of the main agricultural soils in Indonesia because it occupies the largest area after Inceptisols. Ultisols are generally found in areas with relatively high annual rainfall, making them acidic and nutrient-poor soils. One way to improve nutrient availability in Ultisol is through the use of organic fertilizer PGPR from mimosa pudica combined with rice husk compost-biochar. PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) from mimosa pudica can produce IAA and facilitate the decomposition process of organic matter in the soil, allowing plants to absorb nutrients more efficiently. The application of compost and biochar to the soil can add the necessary nutrients for plants. This study aims to determine the effect of mimosa pudica PGPR dosage and rice husk compost-biochar on the availability of N and P nutrients as well as the growth and yield of pakcoy plants in Ultisol. This research was conducted from September to December 2023 at the Plastic House, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The experiment was carried out using a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (CRFD) with two factors. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, resulting in 27 experimental polybag units. Mimosa pudica PGPR treatment (A) significantly affected soil pH, total soil N, growth, and yield of Pakcoy plants. Rice husk compost-biochar treatment (B) significantly affected soil pH, total soil N, growth, and yield of Pakcoy plants. The combination treatment of mimosa pudica PGPR and rice husk compost-biochar tended to increase soil pH, total soil N, available soil P, growth, and yield of pakcoy plants.
