Abstract
Kailan (Brassica oleraceae var. Alboglabra) is one of the leaf vegetables of the Brassicaceae family which has the physical characteristics of thick leaves, green, and has a fairly large stem. One of the efforts that can be made to increase kailan production is through fertilization. Efforts can be made to increase kailan production by applying correct fertilization and expanding harvest land. The purpose of this study is to study the effect of rice husk compost and NPK fertilizer and their interaction in increasing growth and yield in the soil from swamp lebak, as well as obtaining the best combination of doses of rice husk compost and NPK fertilizer that can increase growth and yield in the soil from swamp lebak. This research was conducted in Politeknik street, Kelurahan Bukit Lama, Palembang, South Sumatra with coordinates 3°00'15.4 "S 104°43'44.5 "E and Plant Physiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from November 2023 to January 2024. This study used a Randomized Group Factorial Design (RGFD) consisting of 2 factors. Factor I is the dose of rice husk compost (K) which consists of 3 levels, namely K0 = 0 tons ha-1 (0 g tanaman-1), K1 = 10 tons ha-1 (19 g tanaman-1), K2 = 20 tons ha-1 (38 g tanaman-1). Factor II is the recommended NPK fertilizer (N) which consists of 5 levels, namely N0= 0% NPK recommendations (0 g tanaman-1), N1 = 25% NPK recommendations (1,35 g tanaman-1), N2 = 50% NPK recommendations (2,7 g tanaman-1), N3 = 75% NPK recommendations (4,05 g tanaman-1), N4 = 100% NPK recommendations (5,4 g tanaman-1). There were 15 treatment combinations, each of which was repeated 4 times and each experimental unit had 1 plant, so that the total number of plants there were 60 polybags. The variables observed in this study were soil pH, plant height, leaf count, leaf area, leaf greenness level, header fresh weight, root fresh weight, root length, header dry weight, root dry weight, and root header ratio. The results showed that the combination of rice husk compost and NPK recommendation (KxN) had an influence on all variables other than the fresh weight of roots and dry weight of kailan plant headers. Combined treatment dose of 20 tons ha-1 of rice husk compost + 100% NPK showed better growth and results than other treatments.
