Abstract
Seismic attributes are one of the geophysical methods used to interpret seismic data in order to understand the characteristics underneath the earth's surface. This research focuses on the Central Sumatra Belt in Telisa Formations and Petani Formations using 3D seismical data, well data, checkshot data, and marker data, with the aim of characterizing reservoirs based on seismics and identifying potential areas as new wells. The attributes used are the RMS amplitude and the sweetness attribute. The results obtained are maps in time structures as well as maps of RMS amplitude and sweetness atributes, the color contrast on the map will indicate high or low amplitude values in potential areas. Based on the RMS Amplitude and sweetness attributes, the Telisa Formation is in an altitude area, marked with high amplitude values ranging from 26000 to 28000 ms for the amplitude RMS attribute and 4700 to 5700 ms for sweetness Attribute. The lower area is found in the Petani Formation, marked by low amplitude value ranging between 18000 to 22000ms for the RMS amplitude attribute and 18000-21000ms for amplitude value on the sweetness atribute. The RMS amplitude and Sweetness Attributes result map shows the spread of reservoirs leading to the western and northwestern areas around the wells with higher amplitudinal values, indicating that it is highly likely that the area has a prospective hydrocarbon zone for the development of new wells.
