Abstract

The seismic attribute method is often used in reservoir characterization to interpret and analyze the subsurface picture. This research is focused on Field “X” Talang Akar Formation and Baturaja Formation Sunda Asri Basin with the aim of characterizing the distribution of reservoirs using seismic attributes of RMS amplitude and sweetness and knowing areas that have the potential for new wells. The data used is 3D seismic data and one-well data. Based on the attribute map of RMS amplitude and sweetness, it is possible to identify areas with high and low amplitude values based on color contrast. On the attribute map of RMS amplitude and sweetness, the Talang Akar Formation is in a low area with low amplitude values ranging from 0–27000 ms for the RMS amplitude attribute and 0–3500 ms for the sweetness attribute. In the Baturaja Formation, the amplitude value of the RMS amplitude and sweetness attributes has a high amplitude value, so it includes a high area with the amplitude value of the RMS amplitude attribute ranging from 20000–32500 ms and the amplitude value of the sweetness attribute ranging from 3500–7000 ms. On the RMS amplitude and sweetness attribute maps, the distribution of reservoirs with areas that have high amplitude values in the Talang Akar Formation is in the south, southwest and west of the well, while the Baturaja Formation is in the southeast, south and southwest of the well, allowing for new well development.
