Abstract

Membran elektrospun berbasis PVA (polivinil alkohol) yang tahan air dengan mekanisme crosslinked berbeda telah disintesis menggunakan metode pemintalan elektrik. Diferensiasi dalam mekanisme crosslinked dicapai melalui penambahan dua gugus fungsi berbeda ke dalam struktur molekul membran. Evaluasi sifat tahan air pada membran dilakukan dengan analisis struktur mikro dan makro, seperti FTIR, SEM, EDS, XRD, sudut kontak air (WCA), dan uji perendaman. Spektrum FTIR mengonfirmasi pembentukan pita serapan baru pada sekitar 1700 cm-1, dengan penurunan absorbansi pada gugus hidroksil. Terbentuknya serat nano dengan dominasi nanobeads dikonfirmasi dengan analisis morfologi SEM dengan diameter rata-rata 118 nm, dan hilangnya kandungan besi telah divalidasi dengan spektrum EDS akibat proses pencetakan. Kedua membran menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan sudut kontak air setelah di-crosslinked, yang mencapai 91° dibandingkan dengan 46° pada membran yang tidak di-crosslinked. Berdasarkan pemodelan kinetika adsorpsi, karakteristik adsorptif membran mengikuti mekanisme fisisorpsi dan terjadi dalam banyak lapis (multilayer) adsorbat, dengan kapasitas adsorpsi 31,5 mg/g dan dapat digunakan berulang kali hingga enam siklus adsorpsi-desorpsi.
