Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Peranan PT.Laju Perdana Indah (LPI)Terhadap Masyarakat Kecamatan Semendawai Timur Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Tahun 2012-218”. Permasalahan yang dikaji adalah bagaimana perkembangan perkebunan petani tebu di Kecamatan Semendawai Timur Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu Timur. Perkembangan kehidupan sosial ekonomi petani tebu yang ada di Kecamatan Semendawai Timur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Historis (sejarah) dengan melalui empat tahapan yaitu heuristik, kritik sumber, interprtasi dan pendekatan sosiolgi. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perkembangan perkebunan tebu di Kecamatan Semendawai Timur. Perkembangan kehidupan sosial petani tebu terjalin sangat baik antar petani. Perkembangan kehidupan ekonomi petani tebu terus mengalami peningkatan. Perkembangan hasil produksi tebu disetiap tahun meningkat. Perkembangan ekonomi petani tebu dipengaruhi oleh harga tebu yang tidak menentu disetiap tahunnya sehingga tinggi rendahnya harga tebu dapat mempengaruhi pendapatan petani tebu.
