Abstract

This research is based on the problem of the high number of motor vehicle tax arrears in Banyuasin District. The location of data collection on tax collection of motor vehicles in the Banyuasin Samsat District office. This study aims to determine how the implementation of motor vehicle tax collection in regional regulations Sumatera Selatan province No. 3 2011 concerning regional taxes in Banyuasin District. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method with data collection techniques , in depth interviews and observations. This research uses Marille S. Grindle theory as a reference in knowing how to implement the tax collection policy of motorized vehicle in Banyuasin District. The research focus is in the District Samsat office. The result showed that the implementation of taxation of motor vehicles was good but there were still obstacles to the low awareness of the importance of paying motor vehicle tax. The conclusion of this study is that the motor vehicle tax collection process is good, but the level of community compliance is still very low, resulting in delays in established policies. The author in this study hopes that the parties concerned can further improve services and provide strict sanctions to the violating community.
