Abstract

Kota Surakarta menjadi wilayah yang diprioritaskan oleh pemerintah Indonesia sebagai destinasi wisata selain dari pada Kota Yogyakarta. Kota Surakarta mengalami pembangunan yang secara signifikan dari tahun ke tahunnya selama era Presiden Joko Widodo, yang mana menjadikan Kota Surakarta ini sebagai wilayah yang ingin dikembangkan secara masif terutama pada sektor pariwisata. Maka dari itu, dengan melihat bahwa wilayah Surakarta berpotensi sebagai wilayah yang menjadi daya tarik bagi warga negara asing dan akan berpotensi terjadinya pelanggaran-pelanggaran keimigrasian yang tidak diinginkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I TPI Surakarta dalam melakukan proteksi terhadap negara melalui penanganan pelanggaran keimigrasian selama periode tahun 2020-2023. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui studi dokumentasi dan wawancara dengan petugas imigrasi terkait. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori proteksi nasional yang membahas upaya pemerintah Indonesia dalam memberikan perlindungan terhadap ancaman baik yang bersifat politis, ekonomis, dan keamanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I TPI Surakarta memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam melaksanakan proteksi terhadap negara melalui penanganan pelanggaran keimigrasian. Selama periode tersebut, Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I TPI Surakarta telah berhasil menangani berbagai kasus pelanggaran keimigrasian, termasuk narkoba, penipuan, pemalsuan dokumen, dan pelanggaran izin tinggal. The city of Surakarta experienced significant development from year to year during the era of President Joko Widodo, which made the city of Surakarta an area that wanted to be developed massively, especially in the tourism sector. Therefore, seeing that the Surakarta area has the potential to be an area that is attractive to foreign citizens and has the potential for unwanted immigration violations. This research aims to analyze the role of the TPI Surakarta Class I Immigration Office in protecting the country through handling immigration violations during the 2020-2023 period. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, with data collection through documentation studies and interviews with relevant immigration officers. The theory used is the national protection theory which discusses the Indonesian government's efforts to provide protection against political, economic and security threats. The research results show that the TPI Surakarta Class I Immigration Office has a significant role in carrying out protection for the country through handling immigration violations. During this period, the TPI Surakarta Class I Immigration Office has successfully handled various immigration violation cases, including drugs, fraud, document falsification and residence permit violations.
