Abstract

This research aims to examine the motives of Bumble app users in the city of Palembang. Using a descriptive qualitative research method, data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then verified using source triangulation and analyzed using the Uses and Gratifications theory. The results show that the motives of Bumble app users in Palembang are quite diverse, ranging from seeking friends, finding love, building relationships without commitment, and mere curiosity. Users experienced both positive and negative outcomes, with many finding value in using Bumble to expand their social networks. User satisfaction with Bumble is also influenced by their experiences. This phenomenon highlights the relationship between individual interactions and technology utilization. Keywords: Motives, Bumble, Media, Communication, Palembang
