Abstract

Ultisols are a type of soil that can be characterized as having a yellow color brownish to red. Ultisols are one of the most widely distributed soil types in Indonesia. has the widest distribution. This research aims to determine the condition of physical properties of the soil in the research area planted with sweet corn with the given compost, biomass and wet ash treatments and compare them with the physical properties of untreated soil. This research was conducted in the month of November 2023 until completion. The research location was at Field Laboratory of Soil Department, Sriwijaya University. And soil analysis was conducted at the Laboratory of Physics, Conservation, Survey and Land Evaluation of the Department of Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used was Randomized Group Design (RGD), with 16 treatments and 4 replications (3 replications planted with sweet corn and 1 replication without plants). Structure analysis results structural analysis results showed granular and rounded cubes for P1 to P14, while P0 produced a plate structure. P0 produced a plate structure and P15 produced a single grain structure. structure. The results of bulk density analysis showed the highest effect on P10 which was 0.75 and significantly different from P0 (control). Total pore space analysis results analysis results showed the highest effect on P10 which amounted to 70.78% and differed significantly from P0 (control).very different from P0 (control). The results of the analysis of water content showed the highest effect The highest effect on P11 is 68.84% and significantly different from P0 (control).
